Ulan Mine currently owns or manages approximately 17,876 hectares of land. Non-mining areas are currently used for either grazing or nature conservation.

A comprehensive Land Management Plan is in place, which applies to landholdings within Ulan Mine.The overall objectives of the Plan are to minimise the risk of potential environmental impacts including, but not being limited to, land degradation, the introduction of noxious weeds and feral animals, grazing impacts, salinity and to protection of remnant vegetation.

The objectives for land management at Ulan Mine are based on sound land management principles, such as erosion prevention, pasture and grazing management, salinity control, noxious weed and feral animal control.

Ulan Mine currently implements its Bushfire Management Plan which details fire regimes, maintaining fire breaks, fuel reduction, maintaining access in the event of fire and provision of fire fighting equipment.
