Our mining complex, and our immediate surrounds, have been subject to regular archaeological investigations, both surface and subsurface, since 1980. Survey areas are selected based on the location of any new proposed disturbance areas. No archaeological sites are disturbed without the appropriate permits issued by OEH following consultation with the Aboriginal communities.
It is our intension to conduct meetings with local Aboriginal groups at least every six months. The purpose of these meetings is to keep the Aboriginal community informed of the progress of mining operations, discuss any upcoming projects, and to seek feedback from the Aboriginal community on archaeological and operational issues.
